The title of the permanent exhibition "Stronger than 100 men" refers to a quote from 1540: 

"Of all drawbacks, shortage of water is the one which should be avoided... for the lifting power of the water
wheel is far stronger and more reliable than that of 100 men".

Nowadays, we are getting used to the fact that many items of our daily life are working digitally by means of small chips etc. Once, it was quite different. Cog wheels meshing ingeniously could move power from one place to another, and when the wheels were constructed in different sizes, you could control their speeds.
In Møllehistorisk Samling, we have decided to focus on this basic mechanical knowledge of the old millwrights. In an exhibition making frequent use of all digital media, we tell the story of the mechanical water and wind mills and their development from the Middle Ages to the revolutionary experiments of the Dane Poul la Cour leading to the knowledge of aerodynamics which forms the basis of the modern wind-mill industry.
Borrow a headset and explore the exhibition together with the audio guide or sit down by one of the computers to watch a film how mills are built and how they have worked during centuries.
Children can also make small experiments as to decide the types of mill wings being most efficient in making a lamp light.
